With the aim of creating awareness among the students about the hazards of climate change and to play their role to combat this crucial phenomenon, an event was organized by 'Himalayan Ecosystem SeRvices (HER) Trust" today on 6th October, 2025 in HSS Qaimoh. The event was attended by the students as well as the teaching & non-teaching officials of HSS Qaimoh.

The Founder & Director of HER Trust, Dr. Nuzhat Ul Qayoom Qazi was present on the occasion. Principal HSS Qaimoh, Dr. Sajad Ahmad Mir, in the introduction, laid stress on the role of students in the fight against climate change. It was followed by a detailed presentation by Dr. Nuzhat, who threw light on every aspect of the climate change. She described the various causes of increased emission of greenhouse gases and various types of pollutions in the context Kashmir and outside. She emphasized the role of every individual to safeguard the environment. Finally, she appealed to the students to join the fight against global warming / climate change and to be the ambassadors of a brighter, safer future.
Dr. Nuzhat is a postdoctoral scientist and an entrepreneur. She has published papers concerning global warming and its effects in international journals. She has tremendous work on the issue. Additionally, she is working on waste management in Kashmir. Her work has been recognized on national and international level.
