GHSS Qaimoh Showcases Anti‑Drug Tableau at Mega Pad Yatra
Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Qaimoh marked its active participation in the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) by displaying an innovative anti-drug tableau during the Mega Pad Yatra organised in Kulgam.
The tableau, installed at Stall No. 07, opposite the Power Grid Station in Kulgam, was designed to highlight the school's commitment to the campaign against substance abuse launched under the guidance of the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha.
The exhibit received encouraging recognition from Worthy Deputy Comissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, who interacted with the students during his review of the stalls and offered valuable suggestions. The school's efforts were further acknowledged when the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor, while passing the stall, greeted the participants with a smile and a wave, appreciating their contribution to the larger mission of creating a drug-free society.
Built on a unique foldable architectural framework, the structure conveyed a powerful message: although the menace of drug abuse may appear overwhelming and gigantic, it can be dismantled by targeting its roots through collective action and awareness.
A distinctive feature of the installation was its 180-degree rotatable acrylic top, embedded with high-resolution UHD imagery depicting various dimensions of drug abuse. The rotating display symbolised the deceptive attraction and allure often associated with narcotics. In contrast, the fragile structure beneath, marked with visible bandaged cracks, represented the harsh reality of addiction—illustrating that while drugs may appear appealing and pleasurable in the short term, their long-term consequences are destructive and devastating.

The school's student contingent demonstrated remarkable discipline, dedication, and patience throughout the event despite the intense afternoon heat.
Following the programme, the participating students were hosted for light refreshments in the Principal's office. On the occasion, Dr. Sajad Ahmad Mir, Principal of GHSS Qaimoh, commended the students and staff members associated with the event. He appreciated their hard work, creativity, and commitment in effectively representing the institution and contributing to the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
The participation of GHSS Qaimoh in the Mega Pad Yatra reflects the institution's continued commitment to social awareness initiatives and its resolve to play a constructive role in combating the growing challenge of drug abuse through education, community engagement, and youth empowerment.
