World Environment Day Celebration

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Government Higher Secondary School Qaimoh orchestrated a series of vibrant and meaningful events aimed at nurturing ecological consciousness and environmental stewardship among students and the broader community.
The celebration commenced with a Cleanliness and Awareness Rally that proceeded from the school premises to the sacred site of Ziyarat Qaimoh. Students and staff alike participated enthusiastically, raising slogans, carrying placards, and spreading messages on the urgency of climate action and sustainable living. Following the rally, a solemn Pledge Ceremony was conducted within the school grounds. Students and faculty pledged to safeguard the environment, minimize plastic use, and actively contribute to a healthier planet. The day concluded with a profound Sensitization Programme hosted by the Pollution Control Committee, Kulgam. Esteemed speakers, including the District Officer of the Committee, Firdaus Ahmad, enlightened students about plastic pollution, its long-term repercussions, and actionable remedies. The school Principal, Dr. Sajad Ahmad Mir, along with senior faculty, presided over the event, emphasizing the role of youth as environmental custodians. The session was enriched with practical knowledge, discussions, and a plantation drive, aligning perfectly with the spirit of the day.
